This breakout board for the FTDI FT232RL USB to serial converter, has been designed to work with standard TTL UART interfaces. The major difference with this board is that it brings out the DTR pin as opposed to the RTS pin of the FTDI cable. The DTR pin allows an Arduino target to auto-reset when a new Sketch is downloaded. The operating voltage can be selected between 3.3V and 5V via a 2-pin jumper.

This board is supplied with one set of male and one set of female connectors - these need to be soldered as required.

The marked pin is the GND pin (Also Marked as BLK on other breakouts), the pin out is :

GND (marked with ] on the board)

CTS

5V/3.3V (Selected using the voltage select jumper)

No fuss does the job.

It just works. The best thing is the 3v3/5v jumper - so I just have to carry one board round rather than 2. I have another dual board - but you need to cut and resolder tracks which isn't really very practical. Also quite often I work in areas where the

Labelled pins would help

The board does the job but labelled pins would help to connect it the right way (also when not using all the pins, for instance when connecting an Arduino to the computer but powering it from a battery).

Versatile converter board

Price, delivery and performance all excellent. I needed to upload firmware into XRF radio, and this solved the problem of how to do it easily and reliably. Voltage selectability is great feature - so easy to change from one to the other and back again for

Great value and nice to have selectable 5V/3V3

As others say this is excellent. Thanks for not soldering the headers in - that has let me use 90 degree male headers and wire my programmable projects with female headers. It might sound like a small point but it means I no longer have to worry about a m

This was my first time using an Arduino without a built-in USB port, but I got this hooked up to a 3.3v Arduino Pro Mini without any problems. The pins just map directly to the serial pins along one edge of the Arduino board. There's a FTDI COM port dri

AWESOME IDEA!

I love the fact that I dont need a different board for 5V and 3.3V voltages. This board is well built and has a 3 pin jumper that you use to set the voltage to either 3.3V or 5V depending on what you want to program.Really excellent and a brilliant price
