    This Serial enabled LCD PCB kit is designed to allow you to display characters and control a 2 or 4 line by 16 or 20 character HD44780 based LCD display, The kit is easy to assemble and the build instructions are supplied in an easy to follow build sheet available to download below. You can display standard characters e.g 0 - 9 and a -z, as well as up to 8 custom characters, along with extra control over the display.
    This backpack is designed to run at 5V with 5V-TTL Serial communication, running at 9600 BAUD (8-N-1). The Baud rate can be adjusted between 2400 and 38400. The firmware has been designed to be compatable with the Sparkfun series of LCD backpacks and can be used as a drop in replacment. The backlight as controlled with a transistor and can be dimmed to save power or turned off if required. The Boot-up display can be customised or turned off. When the Boot-up screen is displayed it is displayed for 2 Seconds and then cleared, your display will then be ready to receive data.

very easy to assemble, but working out which way to fit the LCD wasn't clear
works a treat
and very good value for money
I'd buy more if they become available again
